U2- Stuck in a moment you can't get out of

U2 는 내가 좋아하는 밴드 중 하나다. 이유는 보컬인 Bono의 목소리가 좋아서, 그리고 사회적 메세지를 담은 가사 때문에.

U2 곡 중에서 가장 잘 알려져 있는 곡은 With or Without You나 One 이 아닐까 싶다. 둘 다 애절한 사랑 노래니까. 내가 한창 U2에 빠졌을 스무살때 홍대 육쌈냉면 건물 지하에 있는 Motto라는 뮤직바에 가면 항상 U2의 노래를 신청하곤 했다. 곡을 신청하면 공연 실황을 큰 화면에 보여주곤 했는데 갈때마다 빼놓지 않고 신청한 곡은 Stuck in a moment you can't get out of 였다. 이 곡은 드럼 인트로부터 너무 좋았고, 특히나 가사가 정말 좋아서 삶이 버거울때 들으면 좋겠다고 찜해놓은 노래이기도 하다. 알고보니 자살한 보노의 친구인 INXS의 리드싱어, Michael Hutchence를 위한 곡.  오랜만에 도서관에서 가만히 앉아있다가 나도 모르게 소름이 돋아서 몇 번을 듣고 또 들었다. 가사의 내용은 친구를 향한 fictional monologue인데, 친구한테 자살이라는 멍청한 결정을 내리지 말라는 내용. "한 순간에 메여서 빠져나올 수 없는 그대여,  당신 스스로를 다스려야 해요. "
